Iran Blockade Odds Climb as Peace-Talk Bets Collapse

Traders push the odds of a US blockade on Iran to 58% by year end while the chance of near-term peace talks craters to 7%, even as World Cup and Fed markets reprice elsewhere.

Prediction markets spent the week pricing out diplomacy and pricing in confrontation. Traders now put the odds of a US blockade on Iran at 58% by December 31, up 16 points on the day and 30 over the week, while the chance of a next round of US-Iran peace talks by July 17 has collapsed to 7%, down 40 points over the week. Hormuz shipping traffic is following the same script: markets give 81% odds (+24 on the day, +66 over the week) that fewer than 150 vessels transit the strait this week.
